DESCRIPTION:The Canberra Snow Sale has been running for over 30 years and is a great opportunity to buy and/or sell new and pre-loved snow sports equipment. \nAll proceeds from the event go toward supporting local snow sports programs and events. \nThe event will be held at EPIC – Exhibition Park in Canberra\, Flemington Rd Mitchell\, ACT. The Snow Sale will be in the Fitzroy Pavilion. Entry to the Pavilion at EPIC is from the Stirling Avenue entrance near Caltex and McDonalds. \nWANT TO BUY? \nThere will be preloved second hand ski and snowboard items for sale along with new items from local retail stores\, children to adult sizes. All proceeds from the event go toward supporting local ACT snow sports programs and events. \nThe Sale will be open 8.30am – 1.30pm on Saturday May 9. \nWANT TO SELL? \nDrop off items to EPIC\, 12.00pm – 7.00pm on Friday May 8. They will then be labelled by our volunteers and put on display for the Sale on the Saturday. \nThere is a charge of $2 per item lodged into the sale. Snow Australia takes a 25% commission if your goods are sold. You will receive a balance by bank transfer after the event. \nAny unsold gear must be collected after the Sale on the Saturday between 3.00pm – 4.00pm. You can ring us to check that you have goods to be collected before coming in. \nPlease be realistic with items you want to sell\, older items such as straight skis may be unlikely to sell. Older bindings may be unsafe. Please do not sell damaged items\, such as helmets. We request that sale items are not longer than 7 years old. \nWe hope to see you there and please spread the word of our event to your school\, club\, friends\, work mates\, family\, etc!

DESCRIPTION:Cancon 2026\n24-26 January 2026\nOpening hours: \nCancon is open to the public from 7am to midnight days 1 & 2; 7am to 6pm day 3. \nEntry fees: \n\nEntry to the tournaments is ticketed and charged a fee\, enter via the Canberra Games Society webpage www.cgs.asn.au.\nEntry to the public to walk round\, visit the traders\, watch a game or relax in the Comfy Chair Zone\, is FREE.\n\nFood: \nCanteens are located in the main hall\, with our Food Van Court located out the front of the Fitzroy pavilion. \nGetting to EPIC: \nParking is FREE and available at EPIC. \nEPIC is right beside the tram on Flemington Road and has a bus stop just outside. \n\nEvent details: \nThe 46th Annual Canberra Games Society CANCON Gaming Convention hosts gaming enthusiasts from Australia and Overseas and is the single largest gaming convention in the Southern Hemisphere. It is being held at Exhibition Park In Canberra (EPIC) on 24-26 January 2026. \nOver 80 Trade Stalls located in Budawang and Quokka Pavilions will be selling their wares. Traders include Good Games\, Eureka Miniatures\, Aetherworks and Olympian Games. Products sold cater for all tastes and hobbies\, from the games related miniatures and paints\, to Pet Dragon plushies and lego. \nRoleplaying is always a feature of CANCON and has a dedicated area in the Snowy River pavilion hosted by Chaos Conventions. This year they will be featuring tabletop Roleplaying\, including Call of Cthulhu\, Rune Quest\, Pathfinder\, Starfinder and of course Dungeons and Dragons. \nWargaming Tournaments are located in Coorong and Fitzroy Pavilions have almost 40 systems are being run as tournaments\, with events and covering historical\, fantasy and science fiction themes. Games featured include Bolt Action\, De Bellis Antiquitatis (DBA)\, Flames of War\, Warhammer 40\,000 and another world record setting Age of Sigmar event. \nWant to know how to paint miniatures? The Crimson Brush here are here to help! The painter’s lounge is there to get guidance and you paint your day away at CANCON with those who have like-minded interests. There is also the Crimson Brush Painting Competition for those with the right stuff. \nOne of the main attractions is the CANCON Games Library located in the Budawang Pavilion\, which has been immensely popular in the last few years. \n\nThe library is focused on casual games\, which has proven to be popular with families and children;\nOne of its goals is helping people discover what modern board games offer beyond mainstream offerings such as Risk and Monopoly;\nFor a set fee for a day there is a library of over 300 board games to choose from with 100 tables available\, in a friendly non-competitive environment;\nThe library is constantly refreshed with the latest games released from the EU and US; and\nVolunteers are on hand to help teach people how to play the range of games available.\n\nCard Games by GoodGames remains a big event at CANCON with a dedicated rooms hosting a range of competitions such as Magic The Gathering\, Pokemon TCG\, Flesh and Blood and Yu-Gi-Oh! to name a few. \nAbout Canberra Games Society: we are devoted to the furthering of gaming in the Australian Capital Territory and beyond. This includes not only includes wargaming but a large range of other board\, card and tabletop games. Meetings are held on Thursdays at 7PM at the Canberra Bridge Club\, 6 Duff Place Deakin.
